1963
At the Quirino Grandstand, Luna, General Aguinaldo formally donates his historic mansion at Kawit, Cavite, to the Republic of the Philippines. President Diosdado Macapagal receives the donation for the government.


1941
General Aguinaldo urges the people to unite as one in body and soul and cooperate wholeheartedly with the United States if they want to save democracy.


1899
The first anniversary celebration of the proclamation of Philippine Independence is held in Angeles, Pampanga.


1898
The independence of the Philippines is proclaimed in Kawit, Cavite, the Philippine flag is unfurled and flown, and the Philippine National Anthem is played for the first time.


1898
Carried in a hammock, Apolinario Mabini arrives in Cavite to begin serving as General AguinaldoĆ¢€™s trusted adviser.


1871
Birth of Mamerto Natividad, revolutionary general, in Bacolor, Pampanga. Died on November 11, 1897.


1812
Birth of Pedro Pablo Pelaez, one of the first modern Filipino nationalists, writer, and defender of the rights of Filipino priests. He died on June 3, 1863.
