June 11 Events
1968 - President Ferdinand E. Marcos issues Proclamation No. 410. It declares the period January 1 to December 31, 1969, as General Emilio Aguinaldo Centennial Year and authorizes the Aguinaldo Centennial Commission to conduct a national fund campaign.
1901 - Civil government is established in Cavite.
1898 - Julian Felipe presents to General Aguinaldo a composer’s draft of the Philippine National Anthem.
1872 - A decree issued by Governor-General Izquierdo changes the Guardia Civil to Guardia Civil Veterana. The latter body is composed of one captain, six lieutenants, six (second lieutenants), first sergeants and second sergeants, twelve corporals, and seventy-two second-class guards, all from the infantry.
1595 - Antonio Morga succeeds Luis Perez Dasmarinas as ad-interim governor-general of the Philippines.
