June 11 Events
1968 - President Ferdinand E. Marcos issues Proclamation No. 410. It declares the period January 1 to December 31, 1969, as General Emilio Aguinaldo Centennial Year and authorizes the Aguinaldo Centennial Commission to conduct a national fund campaign.
1901 - Civil government is established in Cavite .
1898 - Julian Felipe presents to General Aguinaldo a composer’s draft of the Philippine National Anthem.
1872 - A decree issued by Governor-General Izquierdo changes the Guardia Civil to Guardia Civil Veterana. The latter body is composed of one captain, six lieutenants, six (second lieutenants), first sergeants and second sergeants, twelve corporals, and seventy-two second-class guards, all from the infantry.
1595 - Antonio Morga succeeds Luis Perez Dasmarinas as ad-interim governor-general of the Philippines .
